Use the tools with their limitations

Calculations use the formulas and assumptions described on each tool page. The session planner does not forecast weather, determine whether an object is visible, or assess the safety of a location. Verify local conditions, access permissions, and equipment instructions before observing. Do not use these nighttime activities for solar observing.

Sources and rights

Third-party images and explanations belong to their respective owners. Attribution does not grant reuse rights. Check the original source and obtain any necessary permissions before reproducing material. Orbit is independent of NASA and linked equipment manufacturers.

Availability and corrections

Features and external services may change or become unavailable. Educational material can contain errors; report them using the Contact page. No result from a tool guarantees a particular observing outcome. Nothing on this page limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
